Policy Statement
77 Legacy Africa Ventures Limited recognises that the health, safety, and welfare of all persons affected by our operations — including employees, contractors, clients, and the public — is of paramount importance. We are equally committed to protecting the natural environment from harm arising from our activities.
This policy applies to all operations, project sites, offices, and activities carried out by or on behalf of 77 Legacy Africa Ventures Limited, regardless of location.
Management Obligations
- Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
- Identify, assess, and control HSE risks before and during all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Set measurable HSE objectives and review performance regularly.
- Allocate adequate resources — financial, human, and technical — to HSE management.
- Investigate all incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate this policy to all employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
Employee Responsibilities
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
- Follow all HSE procedures, instructions, and safe work practices.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near-misses promptly to their supervisor.
- Use personal protective equipment as required and maintain it in good condition.
- Participate in HSE training and awareness programmes.
Environmental Obligations
- Prevent pollution and minimise waste generation at all project sites.
- Promote the efficient use of energy, water, and natural resources.
- Assess and mitigate environmental impacts before commencing any project activity.
- Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and permit conditions.
- Engage with local communities on environmental matters in a transparent manner.
